"Initially coming from central Edinburgh, we hadn't considered buying a house in West Lothian.  However, during a chance journey passing through Uphall and Broxburn we decided to explore the area.  We were pleasantly surprised by the attractive market prices and the value for money compared to Edinburgh as well as the travel links to both Glasgow and Edinburgh for work and socialising.   When we found our house, it immediately felt right - spacious, green and quiet, with a strong sense of community. What we love most about our house is its great location,  nestled in amongst plenty of woods and green spaces.  It offers a peaceful and quiet atmosphere while still being accessible to both Edinburgh and Glasgow,  giving us the best of both worlds.  Additionally, our garden provides a perfect spot for enjoying a coffee in the morning or if you're lucky a BBQ at night. Our favourite room in the house is the kitchen dining area, which is light, spacious and serves as the heart of our home. It provides ample space for our family to gather, share some laughs and even indulge in the occasional dance off. On sunny weekends and warm nights (although not exclusively!) the kitchen often spills out into the garden, extending the festivities outdoors."

"Uphall and Broxburn have captured our hearts, providing an ideal environment for our kids to grow up.  The strong sense of community we initially felt has only grown stronger over time.  We have no plans to leave as we have become deeply attached to the area.  As for the house itself it holds immense sentimental value as our first home, filled with cherished memories of raising our two boys during their early years.  We will miss everything about it, as it occupies a special place in our hearts. The Volunteer Arms bar and restaurant, as well as The Oatridge Hotel and Bar, are conveniently located within a 5/10 minute walk from the house, offering great dining and relaxation options. Further into Broxburn, there are additional bars and restaurants to explore. Nearby attractions include Beecraigs country park and Almond Valley, perfect for family outings. The Broxburn Football Club's community stadium hosts various events for both adults and children, along with weekend matches. There are also gyms and pools in close proximity, ensuring plenty of recreational options. Additionally, Uphall train station provides a quick ten-minute rail trip to central Edinburgh for those seeking more activities and amenities."

Uphall is an area within West Lothian renowned for its accessibility to Edinburgh, Glasgow and the Central Scotland motorway network.
